Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal report written following a detailed inspection of a property’s electrical systems and installation. The inspection is to assess and detect any deterioration or defect which has the potential to result in a threat to the buildings inhabitants. When undertaking a survey to complete a report, all the electrical systems and installations present in the buildings, both residential and commercial are thoroughly inspected. It must be carried out by an experienced qualified electrician or approved contractor.

Specific issues that can be revealed through an EICR test include:

  • Any issue with circuits or equipment that might overload or overheat the system
  • Areas of electric shock risks and fire hazards
  • Safety issues with bonding or earthing of installations and equipment
  • Potential faulty electrical work that could lead to faults or injury

At Home-Check, our qualified Electricians can conduct your EICR at a time to suit you.

Additionally, when you make your booking with Home-Check, our online Job Management System will send you an automated email and/or SMS to confirm your appointment (which for your security also includes the name of the Electrician) and further automated messages to advise when they are travelling to you, and at each of stage thereafter as they update the status of the job on their hand-held device.
